The US Department of Homeland Security has gone into overdrive to ensure that Americans are safe within their borders [psssst: the enemy is within]. It has done so in ways that must sound like wet dreams to J. Edgar Hoover’s progeny. The plan is not just insidious, scary & paranoid – &, of course, ridiculous – but also ironic & sad that a nation, which exports/sells the notion of freedom is so busy making sure those freedoms don’t undermine the control that its power elite enjoy.
In December 2011, it became known that the DHS had drafted a long list of “suspect” words including many that are, as the Electronic Privacy Information Center noted, “broad, vague and ambiguous” – drill, cops, prevention, gas, burn, pork, cloud, agriculture. Privately contracted analysts at the National Operations Center created fake Twitter and Facebook profiles to monitor & scan social media & media organizations for “sensitive” words & identify authors of “media reports that reflect adversely on DHS and response activities.”
Despite US stonewalling efforts, the list was ultimately posted online by the Electronic Privacy Information Center,  a privacy watchdog group that filed the initial Freedom of Information Act request & eventually had to sue the government to release the documents.
The US insists it’s only looking for genuine threats & not dissent, although it has recently taken a hardline against protests [OWS], after all, effective protest can be classified as a security threat …
Anon released a video with all of the illegal words
